Elsworth Kitchen Skipton

Elsworth Kitchen has been established in Skipton for over a year now, and is located on Coach Street just around the corner from the canal. The gorgeous renovated building has been so tastefully decorated and provides a wonderfully welcoming atmosphere from the moment you step inside. With an additional seating area upstairs there is plenty of space, perfect if you are visiting with dogs or children! There is even a super cute little play area upstairs to keep the little ones entertained.

It was a rainy Saturday afternoon when I called in for lunch with Dad, and of course, Fifi. Dogs are welcome at Elsworth during the day, and a water bowl and treats were provided – for dog lovers its always a good start when your dog is made to feel welcome too.

The staff were so friendly and I was pleased to meet the owner, Bruce Elsworth, who is clearly so passionate about providing the best experience and cares so much. Constantly adapting and changing the menu to reflect the season, he is keen to innovate and provide something for everyone. With plenty of delicious veggie/vegan options on the menu, they have put lots of thought into creating interesting and flavoursome dishes. The kitchen is located downstairs with a large window so guests can see in – this was an intentional design feature as Bruce wanted to ensure a real connection between the kitchen and the diners.

I enjoyed the Elsworth Kitchen Bowl from the specials menu, featuring quinoa salad, hummus, miso aubergine, pitta, roasted sweet potatos, marinated feta and delicious smoked tofu. The flavours all complimented each other so well, and was so filling, satisfying and wholesome. I often find if I pick the ‘healthy option’ i’m still hungry after, but that certainly wasn’t the case here!

Dad had smoked salmon with chickpea fritters, poached egg, rocket leaves, dill and citrus dressing, also from the specials menu. He loved it, and I tried some of the chickpea fritter, it was great!

The whole experience from start to finish was just lovely, if you’re popping in for lunch with the dog, meeting for cake and cocktails with friends, spending time with family, or going out for dinner, this place is just excellent.

With a lovely community spirit vibe, they often host events and special evenings, you can see upcoming events here – on the 21st November they’ve got a Christmas shopping event that looks fab!
